Book Wreath Art Workshop

On February 24, 2016 I taught a class on book wreaths.  We took old books or sheet music and made a beautiful wreath.  Lots of folding, paper punching, stapling and gluing.

Flower of Light workshop

I am starting to do workshops in the gallery area of my frame shop - Frame It, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.  I am enjoying the process of coming up with creative classes that can be taught in a few hours.   This is a photo of the "Flower of Light" class that I have taught twice now.

Here I go again....

Wow, it's been forever since I wrote on this blog last.  So here I go again :)  Life gets busy and there just doesn't seem to be enough time to do everything.  I have a friend that is helping me stay on track with creative projects and I'm helping her too.  We text each other often to see what progress we have made.  It has been good to be accountable to someone else.  Last Friday another friend showed several of us how to make a braided rag rug.
This is a photo of mine so far.  Actually it is a couple of rows bigger from this point. It has been great for me to learn a new craft and to do something besides glass, my true passion.

I loaded my kiln last night with some amber vitamin bottles.  I am excited to take them out, wire wrap them and add them to wood pieces.  They would make really cute Mother's Day gifts.  I'll post a picture soon.

Hayden Country Club Show

I just wanted to do a little update. I have not done any shows this year. Life has been busy with a new job as the manager of FrameIT. I am doing a show at the Hayden Lake Country Club on October 18th.

At this show I will be featuring my wine bottle cheese boards and jewelry. Great gifts for the upcoming holidays.

Next Fall Show

September 29th I will be at the Applefest Carnival & Craft Show at the Liberty Lake Elementry School. The show runs 10 - 4.

I had a blast in San Francisco at the Luxe Jewels convention. I earned the whole trip! Can't beat that. I have the new jewelry samples for the fall line and they are beautiful!

Spokane Art School enLIGHTened event

Dream, Love, Believe
On March 31, 2007 I was one of the artists at the enLIGHTened after dinner affair. This is the piece that I donated to have auctioned off in the live auction. All of the art pieces were to be about light or enlightenment - however the artist wanted to interpret it. My piece was a refurbished chandelier that I made into a candle holder with mosaic mirror in the center. The 3 candle holders were made with fused glass to represent dream, love, believe.

Good Works Show

The Spokane Jeweler's Guild is having their 25th anniversary show at the Good Works Gallery in Spokane. The show is along with the Spokane Visual Arts tour in February.

This is the necklace that I created for the show. It also has earrings to go with it. I created the pendant with fused dichroic glass, wrapped in sterling silver and strung with purple coral, silver Thai beads and swarovski crystals. The clasp is also sterling silver.
